A Message from the Chief Executive Officer

Dear Client,
The end of the year is a good time to look back, reflect on achievements and to look
forward to see what we still need to accomplish.
This year has been one of great excitement with major active projects having been
undertaken across the AfOL Group. Key among them is the wireless rollout in
Tanzania, Kenya and Ghana, migration from satellite based international links to
SEACOM's fibre in East Africa, migration from flat-fee based wireless broadband
service to volume-capped service in Kenya, Tanzania and Ghana as well as network optimization in
Kenya, Uganda and Ghana especially on the distribution network.
In this year, we have also managed to create the capabilities in key markets e.g managed security,
hosting, in country MPLS and VPN and have just commissioned commercial test of the VoIP services in
Kenya and looking towards completing the same in East Africa. This will create more value to our
customers by enabling them to do voice and data communication.
Looking forward, we will be looking at extracting more value from the investments, enhancing
partnerships, improving our visibility and standardizing new business initiatives across the group among
others as well as new initiatives on revenue generation.
My thanks to you all, many of whom have been with us for many years and many with whom we are
more recently forging new partnerships. Africa Online exists because you choose to give us business and
we do not forget this. Thank you for your support and for helping us to grow.
